Imago / Massimo Strino

Massimo Strino has been creating art for the last 25 years, first in photography, later with kaleidoscopes. He uses his sense of color, and his meticulous attention to the detail to create some of the most precious, elegant, and sophisticated kaleidoscopes, coveted by collectors worldwide. His work is very eclectic, and diverse. He draws inspiration from nature, like the Banksia (a seed pod native of Australia) and Burl, but he also enjoys making jewelry kaleidoscopes, necklaces and bracelets in sterling silver and 14 karat gold, often including semiprecious stones in his designs. He utilizes exotic objects, like a Tibetan incense holder with Sanskrit inscriptions on it, and turns it into a scepter kaleidoscope. He also uses leather and aluminum to create Kaleidoscopes of beautiful elegance. The images in his kaleidoscopes are rich and intricate, the optics virtually seamless. Massimo believes that kaleidoscopes have a role in making the world a better place, by helping people to appreciate beauty and the ever changing quality of life.

“There is a whole world to be discovered looking inside a kaleidoscope” he says, “ and if we can just learn how to draw the right parallels between that world and the one we live in, we will learn how to live always surrounded by beauty, peace, perfection, and love.”
